The 1st Brand Award Azerbaijan Ceremony was held  on February 18 in Baku to reward the brands chosen as the best ones by internet pollers.
“AtaHolding”  OJSC  was  awarded with a  prize Grand Prix, 2008  The Corporate Brand of the Year. The prize was presented to Vice chairman of the Excutive Board Anar Mehdiyev. Anar Mehdiyev expressed his  gratitude  to organizers of the project and  all voters.
 “Excelsior Hotel Baku”  was awarded with a prize The Brand of the Year in the Hotel Business. The prize was awarded to residential manager Vahid Mansimov.
  Addressing the ceremony participants Telman Aliyev, President and CEO, Caspian-European Integration Business Club, said this year Caspian Energy International Media Group is celebrating its 10th anniversary. “In our jubilee year we are launching the first Brand Award Azerbaijan Ceremony”, he said.
The poll was held from May 15, 2008 to January 10, 2009 to discover winners in various nominations of Brand Award Azerbaijan. Participating in the poll were nearly 5,000 respondents from 50 countries around the globe. 30% of pollers cast their votes outside Azerbaijan.
“Today the prize will be awarded to more than 30 companies, including media companies that contributed much to ongoing economic processes and promulgating stability in Azerbaijan”, Telman Aliyev said in his opening speech.
He said the expert board of the Brand Award Azerbaijan Organizing Committee would award grand prizes to 5 more companies that have collected the record number of voices.
